Cohda Wireless Appoints Katherine Mertz as US Sales Director
January 2026
Cohda Wireless has appointed seasoned sales executive Katherine Mertz as Sales Director in the US market. Ms Mertz will be responsible for driving widescale deployment of Cohda’s industry leading MK6 connectivity platform at a pivotal time in the US market as C-V2X technology begins to roll out across the nation.
Ms Mertz joins Cohda from leading traffic detection technology company Sensys Networks where she spent more than 16 years in a sales capacity and most recently as Director of Sales–West. As Sales Director US with Cohda, she will be based in Arizona and responsible for sales nationally.
Cohda CEO Dr. Paul Gray said that Ms Mertz was the ideal candidate for the role.
“Katherine’s depth of experience with Sensys, which operates in the same broader industry as Cohda, puts her in good stead to deliver on expectations,” explained Dr. Gray.
“She has been a familiar face at the same industry events that Cohda attends in the US and has an extensive knowledge of the connected and intelligent transport industry revolution and where Cohda fits in.”
Dr. Gray added that recent industry developments in the US are a catalyst for increased momentum in the rollout of C-V2X interventions.
“We recently saw Atlanta identified as the first US city to establish a ‘Day One Deployment District’ for C-V2X technology,” said Dr. Gray.
“At both city and state levels, Departments of Transportation across the US are actively advancing connected and intelligent transport system initiatives. States including Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Florida and Ohio are already demonstrating strong momentum in the deployment of C-V2X-enabled infrastructure, and others are expected to follow.”
“Industry organizations like 5GAA are guiding Day One deployment across the nation and promoting the readiness of our technology in real world applications and Katherine will be responsible for ensuring that our world-leading technology is a big part of this,” added Dr. Gray.
Cohdas’ MK6 connectivity platform is deployment-ready in the US having been certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Cohda was the first manufacturer to receive the green light for C-V2X (B47) from the FCC for its Original Equipment Products MK6 RSU connectivity device.
The MK6 has also been certified by the OmniAir Consortium® for deployment within the United States.
