COHDA COMPLETES CPOC LEVEL 1 EVALUATION IN EUROPE

CPOC Level 1 is key for C-ITS deployment in Europe
Cohda Wireless’s world-leading MK6 connectivity solution has achieved another important milestone, having successfully passed CPOC Level 1 evaluation in Europe, with TÜV Informationstechnik GmbH (TÜViT), an accredited Common Criteria test lab, attesting a full PASS verdict on all Level 1 requirements.
The Level 1 evaluation, conducted under the CPOC (C-ITS Point of Contact) protocol, confirms that Cohda’s MK6 platform complies with the European Union’s stringent security and trust framework, a critical requirement for safe and scalable Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS).
CPOC, or C-ITS Point of Contact, acts as a central trust mechanism for Europe’s connected transport network. It gathers security certificates issued by national and regional authorities and compiles them into a trusted list that C-ITS devices use to verify messages from other vehicles and roadside infrastructure.
The MK6’s CPOC Level 1 evaluation adds to a growing list of independent certifications and regulatory approvals for the platform, including OmniAir Consortium®, FCC in the United States, CE & E1 (R10, R118) in Europe, UKCA in the United Kingdom, ISED in Canada and KC in South Korea.
The same security foundations that support Cohda’s European CPOC Level 1 evaluation also underpin MK6 deployments in the United States and other international markets, helping ensure the platform remains aligned with evolving V2X security requirements globally.
Cohda CEO Dr. Paul Gray said that the European continent remains a key priority for Cohda and positions the MK6 as a connectivity solution of choice on the continent.
“Like the US, we are seeing very meaningful progress in Europe as connected vehicle technologies move from trials toward real-world deployment,” Dr Gray said.
“CPOC Level 1 evaluation is a highly technical and vitally important process designed to give authorities, and ultimately road users, confidence in a new transport system that will operate securely across borders throughout Europe.”
Cohda launched the MK6 in late 2022 as its most advanced and versatile V2X connectivity solution. The MK6 RSU (Road-Side Unit) and OBU (On-Board Unit) support DSRC, C-V2X, LTE/5G and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth as standard features and build on Cohda’s widely deployed V2X stack and applications.
The MK6 features NXP® Semiconductors’ RoadLink® SAF5400 and SXF1800 chipsets as well as the Qualcomm Snapdragon® Auto 5G Modem-RF Platform.
